Hyun Jin Kim

Hyun “Jin” Kim earned her Ph.D. in Theoretical and Applied Mechanics in 2019 from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). She also received her M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from UIUC in 2014, and B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and B.A. in Visual Arts from Rice University in 2011. Her current research activities are centered around cooling of extreme heat fluxes utilizing fluid flows in microstructures and metal 3D printing of microfluidic passages for thermal management applications. Throughout her academic career, she has been also actively engaged in service and leadership to promote diversity and inclusion in STEM, especially for women and international students.
